safeguarding
Newcastle Blackbelt Academy has been awarded the safeguarding code for martial arts. This means we have all of the necessary policies and procedures to safeguard children and vulnerable adults. The award is renewed annually. Parents can find more about the award on this link https://www.safeguardingcode.com/parents
Our safeguarding officer is Kevin Halliford. Kevin is a recently retired assistant head teacher , so he is well experienced in dealing with safeguarding issues, and has recently undergone an NSPCC training course on safeguarding in sport. If you have any concerns regarding the physical, emotional or social welfare of any of our students, please give Kevin a ring or text him on 07964477925. All contact will be treated with the strictest confidence.
If you want to speak to someone who has no connection with the academy, contact the NSPCC child helpline on 0808 800 5000. If you are under 18 and want help, the NSPCC helpline is 0800 1111. You can find details of further support using this link
